Innova 3130c software update11/26/2022 ![]() Since the slow speed happens for short periods the car at first will not overheat. When you find these codes, you then know the pump is going bad and can preemptively replace it before it totally fails. It logs at what mileage and the deviation of the pump RPM. BMW built into the diagnostics system BMW-specific codes that indicate slow pump speeds. The water pump when it starts to go bad will intermittently start to slow down. The perfect example of importance of this is with the water pump. You should get a code reader that reads BMW manufacturer codes (it will also read the OBDII codes, but just in BMW code nomenclature - which are cross referenced in the Bentley service manual). I can't answer Question 1 as I have no experience with any of those readers (well expect the Peake tool fro older BMWs with the round connector under the hood). What advice do people have, specifically those who have these or other models? I cannot state specifically why I need one of these, just that I will likely in the next 10 or so years. Question 2: What value is there in reading "BMW specific" codes, and do any of these scanners do that? I cannot find information about this specifically. Question 1: What is the best code reader for someone in my situation?ฤก. I also have another non-BMW and would love a multi-vehicle reader if possible: I am a DIYer (see sig of what I have done) and would like to have code reading capabilities (advance auto parts loans a reader free but i'd like the convenience at my home). I own an 06 e90 330i with ~51k miles and plan on keeping it for 10 more years. ![]()
